The Communication and Media Controller is the main control unit of the Communication Systems, implementing all the control logic for managing the passenger audio (PA) and passenger information (PIS) connections, as well as reporting their status to the MDS. As a space-saving measure, it also incorporates an audio amplifier. The Passenger Information System (PIS) displays pre-recorded advertising and data to passengers, in addition to showing videos or warning messages sent from the Operations Control Center (OCC) to the train. The public address system makes automatic and non-automatic announcements for passenger information and also broadcasts emergency announcements for safety or warning purposes. The public address system offers functions such as announcements, automatic announcements, and is also capable of broadcasting announcements from the Operations Control Center (OCC). SEPSAMEDHA offers two configurations for the PIS controller: Compact and Modular, both offering the same technical capabilities. The PIS controller also manages automatic voice and visual announcements, which can be programmed based on different variables such as time or train position.
